Not quite sure what to do with the Stories feature on Instagram and Facebook? Or are you not sold on the fact that it’s a solid marketing tool?
Considering around 250 million people use Stories every day, if you want to increase social engagement and create personal connections, it’s probably a good idea to learn how to use Stories effectively.
So what can you do to become a better storyteller?
1. Use features creatively.
Play with fonts, stickers, animations and music. And use cool features like Superzoom and Boomerang to show off your brand’s personality. You can even find free apps to help create a unified theme.
2. Create a cohesive narrative.
A sequence of videos and photos can be used to create a product tutorial, break a news story, go behind the scenes or tease new initiatives. Whatever the story’s goal, the key is to keep the audience wanting more.
3. Encourage engagement.
The best stories are interactive. Ask (and answer) questions. Use polls and sliders to find out what your audience is interested in. Try using mentions to showcase both followers and partners.
4. Make your brand easier to find.
Hashtags make your content searchable, and location tags can help increase visibility. Even if the user isn’t searching by location, story suggestions are made based on their nearest location.
5. Highlight your stories.
Keep in mind Stories only last for 24 hours before being moved to your personal archives. But the Highlights feature allows you to create permanent story collections. Hint: Organize them by topic to make it easier for future visitors to find key content.
